Cut the plastic trim and glue the PVC pipe with epoxy or plastic filler. Then sand away the excess material. Be patient, the longer and more dedication you have, the more neat you're job will result. 

The back part is very important because it will make a seating area between the PVC pipe and the instrument cluster. If you leave to much of a gap, light will come out. If the pipe is to close that touches, it will no click into place.
