No its not weather proof. It would take a good amount more effort to make it waterproof, it does prevent water from coming straight in, but if something cannot get wet I would not put it back there.

Did you know that even if you have a very well designed side view mirror its aerodynamics as well as that of the overall side of you vehicle can be ruined by it being located too close to the body...
