Today I mounted the controller in the beetle.

Set the amps limit to 300 (so that is 1200A) and took it for a spin... it drives...

That's the DC-DC I guess. I've mounted it above the controller board. It takes 12V input and outputs 24V for the board, there should be a connector that fits the 24V input of the controller board on...

It's really cheap 30$ or so, has an ARM processor and runs Linux (raspbian, a debian variant) it's powered by USB (so 5v) and uses a microSD as a disk

Ahh.. in the picture I forgot the voltage...

Ahh.. in the picture I forgot the voltage divider.. it works on 5V and so far hasn't broke the raspberry. But i'm including the divider just for safety.. everyone states that the raspberry is NOT 5V...

yes yes.. If it was for me the max232 could be left out... dont no need for rs232 with the raspberry

And actually only the tx is an output so that would need a voltage divider. The rx is a input...
