I don't know if this has been posted before, but currently on one of the scooter boards, this is being discussed. I don't understand why a CVT is generally thought to be inefficient for mpg purposes...

$9K for a base model electrified Chinese 150 scooter? I could buy the same scooter with the 150 gas engine for $700-$900 (or less)and buy a boatload of gas, even at $5/gallon with the left over...
