1000-gigaton Methane Bomb tonight

I won't be able to see it, but tonight, on PBS NOVA, and in later podcasts, NOVA is doing a program on Arctic permafrost methane sinkholes.
It could be one-hour well spent if you've never heard about this climate challenge.

Yeah I saw it when it first came out. They pretend like this has never ever happened before and is the end of the world.
I highly encourage people to watch it. I know of nothing that will get people burned out faster on dooms day climate change than a PBS documentary on the subject.

From what I gathered from the field scientists involved, it has NEVER happened before.
I'd didn't experience any 'doomsday'.

NEVER is a long, long time. You have proof?

NEVER happened before? It goes back eight years. Does that count? Try

Methane has a specific chemical signature which can be distinguished from all other hydrocarbons.
There is nothing that has been discovered in the paleoclimate record which recognizes thawing permafrost as a phenomena ever witnessed before by humans.

Methane is 21-times more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.
Methane 'IS' relatively short-lived and turns into carbon dioxide with a one-thousand -year lifetime.
