1000A Cougar Kit?
Can I get a kit for the 1000A motor controller? I have all the sepc sheets and diagrams etc., but I am looking for a complete kit. I have seen this for the 500A controller, but not the 1000A version? Has anybody built the 1000A controller?

AFAIK there is no kit for the 1000A controller yet. In fact I'm not 100% sure its 100% done. I'd recommend sending a PM to Paul to see what the status is. He might even be able to make up a kit for you.

Sorry, I've been basically teaching math at the college and then on the trampoline with my son, and then holding my other son and then sleeping. The schedule will stay pretty much the same until August 24th. Then I can try and get that dang 1000amp bugger finally done. I never should have signed up for so many stinking classes this summer.

I've done a couple versions, and there have been problems with them. The process is so different, so that there have been a lot of variables introduced. I just got some new parts in the mail yesterday to try out another test.

I'm not sure if this has been answered in another thread or not, but I assume that part of making a controller twice as powerful is that you can't just double the number of solid state switches and so on, but that it has to be designed better, so if you take these theories that make a 1000amp controller work and put them in to a 500amp controller will that 500amp controller be of a better design?

What about the price?
I look forward to new plans, but I am also exploring other 1000A controllers. I must have the absolute cheapest option as this is one of my priorities on my latet conversion, how little cna I convert for. The project is called ZEN for Zero Emission Nihilator. I have not put much on tthe blog yet as I have not got right into it. I should be getting my motor at the end of this month and some newer batteries soon too. ZEN is a 1992 Mitsubishi Pajero and is quite heavy, therefore I need a bigger controller. 500A is just not enough.
Please keep up the good work. James....
My other car is coming up for 10,000 electric only miles. Search for probatron!
