I think that modifying the streetbike plastics to fit a dirtbike should actually work just fine. It would be an interesting design challenge to make them easily removeable, but don't let that discourage you. I was told that streamlining an air cooled bike was impossible, but I proved that it can be done. something to consider will be weather you keep the footpegs in the stock location, or use rearsets. a really big one for street is to use lower narrower handlebars. clipons can be swapped in in minutes. another consideration is an aerodynamic tail section. you don't need a giant trunk, just tapered bodywork that brings the air together behind you. aerodynamically, the little things make big differences, like making sure your toes, knees, and elbows fit into the profile of the bike rather than sticking out, and using your cooling opening efficiently.
