The S10 does sound pretty good at this point, but if I can use the Sentra (for free!) then that would probably be my best bet. Especially if I did something along the lines of this: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ods-19024.htmlNissan Sentra Mods

Free is a good bet. The Sentra has lots of miles left on it. It might be just as easy to get parts for it as an S-10. The base engine in the S-10 would be a 1.9L but the weight distribution and windshield angle might favor the Sentra. Do you plan to move cargo or passengers? Would you rather do body work or swap engines and axles? How much would you pay for insurance and registration? If you have access to a used fleet vehicle such as an S-10 with a V6 consider swapping in a 3 cyl. diesel engine. Either way I suspect you could get 65 mpg. Do as much research as you can at the library before you spend a lot of money. You might find a decent lightweight bicycle and build a full body fairing for it based on glider plans while the Sentra gets sorted out and streamlined.
