1962 Template Fiat?

I just came across this.. anyone know anything about it? It appears to be pretty close to Template.

I googled it and it looks like the production model didn't make the template :

( I googled for a fiat 600 D ). :-)

I'm guessing that the gorgeous compound curve windshield probably cost more than the entire regular production 600. Now that they're off and running with the new 500, here's a chance for Fiat to make an even bigger splash with a 600: this one.

While this would be great, I think we'd see it from a company such as Tesla first. Mainstream manufacturers don't seem at all interested in pure aero shapes. See how the Prius and Volt try to cover up their streamlining?
