I wish I could get 500K miles out of my Satty, but I don't see it happening, *sniff* .

Over the years she says she's spent at least $50,000 to keep the car on the road. But she also knows how to save a lot of money.
"And I've had three sets of Sears shocks. And seven free Midas mufflers. I bought a lifetime battery from JCPenney and so I have had 18 free batteries. Firestone puts the battery in, Penney's pays for it," said Veitch.

Cfg, I bet that if you spend 50 000$ on it, it should go for 500k miles.
(Btw, this is 1089$ per years, not that bad after all.)

Hmmmm, that is pretty good for a car that is driving a decent 12K miles per year. I am almost at 200K miles, so we'll see how it goes. Maybe I'll start an oily-leak-day fund for my SW2.

What MPG does a 1964 Comet V8 get?
What MPG does a 1964 Comet V8 get? 12mpg, or 14mpg? And what would you guess the average cost per gallon over the 46 years?
So my WAG is 562,000 / 14 X $1 = ~$40K
Do you think the valve seats have been replaced? You know, leaded gasoline was with us until ... 1978 or so?

Hmm. I wonder how much that lifetime battery cost back then ? I'm guessing it was definitely worth it
