Question Any news?

Stumbled upon this thread when doing some research for my own project. Any news on the car?

I've got a 1992 caprice classic with a bone stock 5.0L that I've managed to squeeze 29.4 mpg out of, but that was carefully driven pure highway miles at 65-70 mph, measured between two gas stations roughly 400 miles apart on an overnight trip from Iowa to the east coast. Got the car for $500 and replaced the tires, spark plugs & wires, o2 sensor, accessory belt and a few other minor things. When I turned on the A/C my mileage dropped to 28.1, again pure highway miles at the same speed measured between two gas stations 180 miles apart.

Then again, 29 isn't THAT much more than the factory rating of 26 on the highway (according to a quick google search anyway)
