1994 Ford Ranger?

Being a pre-OBD-II veh scan gauge is not an option. Has anyone on here wired an MPGuino or similar devised into a Ranger within this generation? I'm just looking to improve my driving habits with my new (to me) vehicle. Thanks.

I am interested as well. A MPGunio would be a simple install in a Ranger but I have not figured out the VSS yet. 1995 and newer has a VSS and electronic speedo. Seems older rangers have a mechanical speedo but some have a VSS with a passthru for a mechanical speedo. So I am confused and not sure what my 1994 ranger has. Going to have to crawl around underneath and take a look.

Figured it out! VSS signal from sensor on bell housing. Still has mechanical speedo but has a VSS signal for ABS and Cruise Control. It is 8000 pulse/mile. I Added the 1994 ranger to the MPGunio wiki list. Only have the data for a 3.0L equipped model but it wouldn't be hard to figure out the 2.3L I4 or the 4.0L V6.

Sounds like a good start! I'm hoping my model will be similar regardless of the engine size...I don't have cruise control either but I do have ABS so I would hope a VSS signal can still be obtained. Thanks for the information!

I know this thread is old, but did you guys get a "gauge" of some sort for your Rangers? If so, what and was it hard to put in? I have a 1995 Ranger with the v6.
