Hi Guys,

Got a design done for the rear carrier today, it will hold my spare tire as well as a box to store tools/jack/jumper leads/tow rope/whatever else

the hole in the middle at the bottom is where it bolts on to the existing hitch via the tow ball, i wanted to try and make it so i can still hook a trailer up with the carrier on but im not sure if it will work

it will be made out of 40x40x3mm steel angle so should be quite strong

This will allow me to take the basket off the roof, but i will still leave the "aero" crossbars on for the times when i need to throw something up there, i will also be leaving the awning on but rolling it into a capped off piece of PVC pipe to keep it away from the elements and because the PVC will be easier to mount on the bare crossbars

here is why i have the awning (also shows a higher setting on the adjustable suspension):

Thanks for looking

Working fine for me, might be an issue with photobucket on your end?

Can you see any of the pics in this thread or either of the other threads in my signature? (they are all hosted in the same photobucket account)

Hi guys,

Well that didnt last long... i got pulled over yesterday by the lovely South Australian Police Department and the officer was nice enough to give me a new sticker:

It is a defect notice for driving an unroadworthy vehicle for those not familiar, which means i need to take it through an inspection station to pass it for roadworthyness again

He was being picky and did me for bald tires (even though they are still 1mm above the wear marker), missing interior trims (apparently a hazard to occupants) and he didnt like my gear stick (not actually illegal as far as i know but he wants it inspected to make sure its fitted properly)

There is no way it will pass in its current guise so im not even going to bother, i registered the F Truck again today and i will drive that while i hunt for an EG civic to use for daily driving, then i will go all out on the wagon and turn it into a weekend/show only demo car for my shop (more audio, lower, bigger wheels, etc etc)

Stay tuned for project civic!

If this can be considered "unroadworthy" I'd like to see what he would have to say about the Brazilian fleet...

Australia and Brazil are about 9000 miles apart (centre to centre). Given states in the US or the EU can't even agree what is and what is not acceptible this is not unusual.
