1998 Suzuki Swift (Portland, OR)

1998 Suzuki Swift with 89,xxx miles. 4 cylinder 1.3l, 5 speed manual transmission. Two door hatchback. Clean title with good tags for another year. Decent stereo system with a Sony MP3 / Axillary input CD player.

I bought this car about a year ago with a non-functioning second gear to get me around while working a project on my other vehicle. Now that I have finished the project, I no longer need this car. I have put less than 10,000 miles on it. I am a professional mechanic and have done all the work myself. The only mod I have done is a warm air intake (flipping the airbox to suck air from the exhaust manifold area) and can easily be reverted.

Less than a month ago, I took the transmission apart to fix the second gear and found worn out dog teeth on the second gear assembly along with some noisy bearings, so I ended up doing a full transmission rebuild. I replaced all the synchronizer rings, bearings, seals, the whole second gear assembly, and changed the gear oil. The clutch and pressure plate looked practically brand new (I have receipts that the old owner changed the clutch around 80k miles). The transmission shifts perfectly now and doesn't make any noise.

While owning this vehicle, I have,
*Changed the oil every ~3,000 miles
*Replaced the spark plugs
*Replaced all the tires with brand new Kumho Solus's 155/80R13 (680 treadwear). They have an 80,000 mile warranty through America's Tire and currently have less than 3,000 miles on them
*Aligned the vehicle
*Resurfaced the front and rear brakes to fix a pulsating brake pedal. The front and rear brakes both have more than 50% life remaining. The rear brakes have been clean/adjusted recently
*Replaced the driver's side front wheel bearing
*Flushed the coolant
*Purchased tire chains for getting up to the mountain

The only problem, which I just noticed after finishing the transmission, is that the other front wheel bearing is making some noise. I would have replaced it but I ran out of time at work while installing the transmission on Friday. I am going to be fixing by this coming Friday (21st). The car drives fine regardless.

If you want to inspect the car yourself, we can meet at the shop I work at in Tualatin and I will lift it up on the rack for you to see. Otherwise you can meet me at my house in SW Portland. I'm asking $2500.

My best tank of gas was just shy of 50 miles per gallon when heading over the Cascade Range going to Bend. I usually get around 45 miles per gallon with mild hypermiling techniques.

Nice ride at a fair price! I'm just not in the market for it right now, but it sounds like a great car, and I hope it sells soon for you!
