1st 40 mpg tank

I know it's not a big deal for a lot of you, but last night at about 9:55pm it was incredibly satisfying to see the average tic over from 39.9
i'm surprised how addicting squeezing mpg out of my car can be that was the mpg at the end of the tank, right before I refilled, 466 miles. I can do better...... http://ecomodder.com/forum/emgarage-...f1e30013fe.jpg |
Good stuff. Now it's time to raise the bar higher and beat ur records.

Nice job  Not anyone can get a best fill during the winter :)

thanks guys! this was more highway than normal...i doubt my next few tanks will be that successful
i think my onboard mpg calculator doesn't take EOC into consideration....for whatever reason it always seems a little off compared to the calculation on this site i'm assuming it also has to do with variations in filling the tank...i'm a first click guy, i figured that tank fill variations will average out as long as i'm consistent |
They'll average out over time, yes. I prefer to fill until I can see the fuel, so I know the calcs (and gauges) are accurate.
Congrats on reaching that milestone. |

On my Scangauge 1 in my S-Series, EOC still showns an RPM of 61 when the RPM is 0. The SG ends up calculating MPG as 10*MPH. Don't know why, but there it is. CarloSW2 |
When I used to EOC in a 5 speed MT Saturn, my speedometer/odometer did not register mph / distance traveled while the key was off (one notch short of locking the steering wheel. I changed the way I did it to turning the engine off and then putting the key back to run. THEN, the speedometer and odometer would continue to register.
