2 Months, No Gas!

No gas in the car for 2 months. Only driven around 300 miles, still have about 1/4 a tank. I'm going to shoot for 3 months, BUT that's going to be very hard if I take a vacation with it.

Oh well, just had to brag a bit.

It's fun isn't it? Not going to gas stations? And listening to everyone cry about gas prices? Heh heh.

I've gone over a month without even starting the car up. Bicycles FTW!

Incidentally, know that Progressive Insurance "Snapshot" program that I raised a ruckus here mentioning? Plugged it in a couple weeks ago... haven't even started the car yet. I bet they are wondering WTF? LOL

will they still give you a discount if you aren't driving? or will they just argue that you aren't using it

Good going, Brucey
I've been able to go 2-3 months without filling up, and 2-4 weeks without even starting. It's a great feeling when the only "oil" you used was to grease you bicycle chain

They monitor for at least 30 days. If I drive it somewhere within 30 days I expect to be OK...

I would double check on Progressive's website - I had mine plugged in, didn't drive the Suub for 10 days as I was waiting for a very specific subaru part, and they didn't count it. YMMV

Some days I think about selling the car and just going bicycle - transit. I could do it, I live close to work and shopping. But I like to drive (a lot). Most of my fuel use is for driving around for fun. It kind of sucks to be paying insurance and car payments for a lump of metal that sits in the driveway and does nothing. So I use it.
