2002 GM AUTOnomy concept car, striking resemblance as a sporty Edison2?

I thought this was unusual. The 2002 GM AUTOnomy is a hydrogen car based on a skateboard drivetrain, modular removable body, and fly by wire controls. But it looks almost exactly like Edison2's 4.0 concept. An example of form following function?

That's a good call. Separated at birth?

I thought of the Audi Hydron, but it's much too fussy in the details.

Wow- "separated at birth" especially from the plan view!
