Emphasis mine.
I would avoid the Gen 1 Prius, for more reasons than its ugly interior and uglier shifter.

The fact that it was the least aerodynamic Prius ever?
Yes, that line was an uninspiring thing.

2004 Prius with 220,000 miles for $2,500
As far as I can tell, this looks pretty good, I just cannot afford it!

Had to google it, my god that shifter looks stupid. Like a bent handbrake lever in a wrong place.
Altough, one can get used to ugly/odd interior very quickly. For example, i always ridiculed the yaris/echo dashboard with the centered digital dials. Until i bought one

I knew a girl that had a Yaris and said she loved it. I asked about the location of the instrument cluster and she said she loved that, too--but she never looked at it and sped.

Lots of people ask me about the centered gauge cluster in my Saturn, most times either they love it or hate it... my only quip is that they coulda switched places with the tach and fuel/temp gauges... would put the tach closer to line of sight...

Is that better or worse than the Mini speedometer?

I feel that the Mini speedometer sits awfully low to be easy to look at while moving... my Saturn is set up similar to the Yaris, with the gauges high up and centered (angled toward me)
