Since no one has mentioned Continental ContiEcoContact 5, I will. They came out top in a danish consumer test, and i beleive the weather here in Denmark is comparable to the scottish.

They were mentioned in my George thread and under consideration for him - in fact they will probably he the choice for that car. The plan is to ask the company for specifics until we hit one that matches. The standard Energy's are OK but noisy.

From experience I'm wary of Dunlops (quiet, but no grip) and Pirelli (OK until it rains). Goodyears seem to work well and good-ish on noise. Michelins tend to be noisy and harsh but grip like mad.

Any other experiences welcome.
