decreasing temps

I've never heard of a grill block decreasing temps. It sounds like he might have a bad tstat that coincided with the timing of the added grill block.

Ultraguage is a great investment. You won't regret it.
Since the drag reduction of a grille block lowers the road load horsepower requirement,less fuel is consumed per unit distance,and there's less heat flux over the same distance.
If the overall airflow rate across the radiator core is maintained (good inlet and airtight ducting),then the radiator has the capacity to reject relatively more heat than the engine is producing now under similar driving schedules,allowing a lower coolant temp.
A lower temp might not necessarily be beneficial.The thermostat ought to be able to compensate.
