2012 gmc 2500 HD

Well went thorugh my first tank of gas figured out to 15.7 mpg.I drive very lightly cruise control set at 55-60 mph.maybe it wiil get better or worse when it breaks in.short highway trips with mostly city driving.

Is that with the diesel motor? Did you hand calculate the mpg? What were you hauling?

The number you provided doesn't really give anyone a picture of how the truck was used or the environment it was used in.

The truck was empty its brand new I commute 20miles a day about half highway half city its a 6.0 liter gas.The milage was hand caculated.

16mpg on an empty gasser sounds decent to me. I'll bet the biggest improvements to come from getting to know the rig better and adapt it to your normal routine.

What do you plan to tow or haul? Most on here would cringe at the thought of this being used as a commuter vehicle. This article addresses those concerns, and was recently posted on this forum.

2012 gmc

Its not my daily driver I have a 1997 pontiac sunfire 2.2 liter was given to me with ablown head gasket currently replacing it. I tow my 52 cadillac around with it and a lot of wood.

Those gassers really have a poor fuel-efficiency. Cool trucks afterall, but even with a 4-cyl Cummins they would be better...
