The EPA is listing it at 40 mpg highway, 30 city, and 34 combined. I guess the U.S. standards were a bit stricter. That being said, given those numbers, I'm guessing that 50 mpg would be easily achievable in the hands of someone who knows how to drive for economy. That's probably why Hyundai was quoting 50 mpg in their initial estimates.
