Axle buying strategies?

I am looking for axles that are Acura RSX based and there are plenty of options... 500+HP choices aside I can go with cheap and new Autozone variety, used (and broken in?) OEM or maybe there are some specific brands that are known to be good? Thought I'd ask the heard.

I'm a Chrysler caravan fancier, especially the 8 seat ones. Almost 1/2 ton rated looks like only 8 bolts holding them in plus 2 for shock tops. Common as dirt also.

What are you going to use the axle for? Trailer? Car? Dinner table?

If it's for a trailer, i suppose the best option would be a new axle meant for trailers.

Axle-shaft, possibly?

For a trailer, Dexter torsion bars.

Brian at Hasport has talked about how many aftermarket axles aren't identical in length to OEM... which might or might not matter in a swap car. Some of the worst offenders can actually pop out at extreme steering angles.

Not all bearings are created equal. I imagine smaller, lower HP-rated axles will likely be on average lighter and have lower frictional losses.
