Ain't that easy. In a perfect world, perhaps that would work, but as 3-wheeler, the nice guy in WS who built the very nice boattail is finding, what works in theory is sometimes pretty tough in the real world. He is an engineering type and much better qualified than most of us and he still hasn't gotten that job done.
And think about what you just offered. Am I to go out and borrow car candidate of all the cars at question, and do coast down testing so I can get some questionable data that I can make myself believe? There's lots of that going on here already and I try not to add confusion if I can avoid it.
There are some general things we seem to know with some fair reliability, and there is a vast range of the difficult and the questionable. Don't try to invent certainty when none exists!
Simple truth is we have very few tools available to we amateurs, and the ones we have render inconclusive, misleading and inaccurate results - most of the time. I've read and studied a lot here and I take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt. Give Frank credit. He raises an eyebrow more often than most, and justly so.
