2013 New England Insight meet. Aug 24-25 East Connecticut

I thought i'd share this here. This years NE Honda Insight meet is Aug 24-25 in Thompson Connecticut. The most knowledgeable people will be there in both modding (MIMA, Lithium packs, etc) as well as hypermiling and aeromodding the Insight. There will also be an MPG rally through a couple nearby towns. I highly recommend going, even if you don't own an Insight, if only for the MPG rally (there's some really good competition). I had a great time last year!

Last years meet was fun, lots of discussions and networking and as one would expect when you get a bunch of motor heads together, the need to get out some wrenches out and get dirty finally won out, and we ended up pulling the motor and transmission out of my green Insight. I think it would be fun and useful if we could spend some time doing some of the common maintenance items as a group.
The EGR cleaning and replacement seems like a good one, headlight polishing, oil changes, (I have a pit in my garage) May even be able to drop the prius synergy drive into the green Insight, to work out the mounting system, May be well on the way with the A123 and MIMA 2 projects? I will get the MPG competition winners MIMA interfaced brake lite built and if he returns this year, to defend his championship, we can award it to him.
I will have at least 2 grid chargers and dischargers, and that would allow us to condition at least 2 batteries during the event.

Lets also start a list of people that are interested and want to attend.
I have two new 10X20 foot canopies that we can set up to give us some shelter if it rains.

Possible tech day projects in addition to the EGR fixes:
- Charger Harness install
- Rear motor mount clinic
- Fumoto valve install (basic stuff, but many folks don't have the facility to get it done).
- Wet seatbelt cure clinic
- Seat cover wash clinic
- Cabin air filter change out
- Dash switch clinic
- COPYING JIM E's UNDER BODY SHIELD CLINIC!

Hope to have the Solar survival trailer finished and operational.

Just giving everyone a friendly reminder. Everyone is welcome, regardless of what vehicle you drive. It looks like we'll be getting more than a dozen people this year. Everyone just camps in the yard, it's very casual. Lots of interesting solar and electric projects.

There will be a mpg rally through several of the towns, about 18 miles. Usually everyone does it Sunday, but some run the course the day before. Best run (if you want more one) counts.

Last reminder to anyone who may wish to come. I think over 30 people will be coming. Last year was about a dozen, so this is an unexpected surprise. I'm off tomorrow to Boston, will be going 55mph the whole way. Then i'll arrive at the event before most people will be there friday night.

Several people who also inhabit this forum will be there. If you want to meet some members. If you don't drive an Insight and think you'll be outcompeted, i'll let you drive my CVT Insight around the mpg course.

May i add barbeque to entice anyone???
