Peugeot is working towards a self-driving car, the new Instinct concept. The plug-in hybrid gasoline-electric 4wd drivetrain with 300bhp will have best of both worlds, Drive and Autonomous modes. It has auto deploying active aero spoilers. On-board technologies include “Internet of Things” platform and Samsung Artik Cloud, which syncs with the user’s devices. This would 'read' to user’s lifestyle and preconfigures settings like driving mode, seat and interface settings, ambient lighting and audio adapted to the user’s preferences. Cameras IN the LED headlights would enable the car to scan the road ahead and feed info into the driver assistance system. When in autonomous mode, the steering wheel and switchgears fold into the dash and the accelerator pedal folds back to maximize space. The nice-looking shooting brake design will debut in the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
