24M Batteries

I've been following 24M for a few years as they try to get their batteries to market. The company is ran by the same person who gave us the A123 LifePo4 cells, Dr. Yet-Ming Chiang. The good doctor and his crew have been working on pouch cells that cost less by using less material and using a more efficient production method. I know that they had shipped some cells for evaluation on some level but haven't been able to find the results anywhere.

But the newer news is that they have developed a lithium based battery that increases the energy density to above 350whrs/kg and supposedly improves cycle life, safety and cost. This was very recently announced so we shouldn't expect to see it on the market for a couple years yet. Of course there is still a lot to be done and commercialization projections are almost always projected on the rosy side but there is always hope.

Interview with some of the 24M leaders in the link.
