29 MPG w/ 2.5L Impreza in rush hour city driving

Scored 29 MPG at 27 MPH avg speed in my hour long rush hour drive home. I did not use any hardcore hypermiling tactics and just tried to maximize time spent coasting (engine ON) and did some pulses and glides. I also tried to anticipate stops and cars cutting me off. Since this car has a huge thirst for gas whenever the throttle is open (no matter what) I did my best to get up to speed so I could cruise or coast ASAP. Gear shifts were at 2500 rpm with ~80% engine load in light traffic and 2000 rpm with ~70% load in heavy traffic. Again I tried to minimize time spent as much as possible accelerating specially below 2000 rpm where this vehicles BSFC suffers dramatically.

In terms of modifications I have no aero or Eco mods. One of my performance mods that might have helped is probably ecu flash.
