33290 from ebay

I'm new to this forum and to the project, I've got a modified version of the code running on a Mega1280 with a graphic display...

Just purchased a 33290 from ebay (seller is in HK) it doesnt seem to be freescale or motorolla though and im not sure where the pin count starts although the seller pointed me at the freescale data sheet.

The chip says 33290 XAMO on the top.....
Can anyone help me out with info for building the interface with this chip?

Thanks
Jon

I need to watch this thread, because I need a 33290 for my cars (they use the ISO 9141 protocol), and I was going to order from that guy on eBay. Keep us posted!

Well, after more searches here on ecomodder.com, I found that other people have just duplicated the circuit inside the MC33290. Search the ecomodder forums for "33290 perquin" to find the circuit. I would post a link, but I don't have enough posts to be able to put a link here.

Thanks unixdude, I just found that I made a mistake with my cars protocol (that will teach me to look closer!) and don't need to use the ISO interface that I built as the car is J1850 protocol!

Just a word of caution to anyone thinking of buying the 33290 from an ebay seller in Hong Kong (seller id = whymind) The pin1 seems to be on the opposite side of the chip to the Freescale chips - although my interface is untested so I can't verify this!
