37 MPG in a 2012 V6 Mustang

No joke.

I no longer have this car but thought it was worth noting for you folks here.

2012 3.7 DOHC V6 w/Direct Injection Mustang with Auto transmission and 2.73 rear gears.

Had factory high rolling resistance tires. Michelins.

EPA Rated at 31 MPG Highway.

Mods where...

- SCT flash programmer
- Low flow dual exhaust (don't remember what mufflers I put on it).
- Cold Air Intake

My daily commute was 27 miles each way. 95% mostly flat highway.

It got a very, very consistent low/mid 30s MPG and believe it or not, it got around 36-37 MPGs when I was driving for mileage. Maintaining 65 MPH.

I truly believe that someone could hit 40 MPG Highway out of this setup with aeromods.

With the mods, it was rated around 325 HP. For a V6, that sombich would flat out "get it" when I wanted it too !

Oh, BTW, wife made me get rid of it cause it was a chick magnet! LMAO !

I really miss that car.

Here's some pics. Enjoy!

I did 48 MPG at the 2014 Green Grand Prix, corrected to 49, and because of a filling error, my 2015 result (which SHOULD have been 49+) was 40+.

Highway driving I get 44-49, depending on how many tunnels there are. Yea, tunnels screw me up...lol. I have a build log. But I had the GT rims and tires (more grip, aka RR), and no automatic- so a bit different.

Nice job, especially for an automatic.

I really like the 2011 up v6 mustang. I'd really like to try the new turbo 4 as well.
