Our Mazda5 is an auto. I tried to convince the wife that she needed a manual, but she'd rather have an auto. She used to drive a manual, but doesn't want to anymore. We are doing better than EPA ratings with the auto, but I am sure we could have gotten even better with the manual.
My sister has a 2012 Mazda5 with the manual. I drove it and loved it! She doesn't get the greatest mileage though, she has a heavy foot...
We just bought a house and are able to fold the seats in the Mazda down and take stuff to the dump, pick up furniture, etc. A truck would be easier to use, but the gas mileage on a truck is too low for us to get one right now.
