50.4 mpg - beginning

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie here. Got around 50.4 mpg on my 87 honda crx hf. Filled up tank at point A, travelled 247 miles, and refilled at point B. Used 4.9 gallons yielding around 50.4 mpg.

Used a stock 1987 honda crx hf, no mods since I'm just starting up. My goal is to reach around 70 mpgs, hopefully it'll be possible. I did use some driving tactics, mainly drove at 65-70 mpg, and behind big cars. hah.

In the near future, i'd like to put more aerodynamic wheel covers, maybe changing the mirrors on it for more aerodynamic ones. Those will probably be my first mods.

Long term, i'll probably add wheel skirts, and just look at the efficiency mods here to see what I can add. Any comments appreciated. Cheers.

ps - how do u guys get your car model names below your avatar?

Welcome to the site. The CRX is a great platform, and the hf even better. Good luck with it.

Looks like you got the garage figured out.
