Finally achieved my goal!

When I started this ecomodding trip just over a year ago, I thought 40mpg commuting back and forth to work for one week was maybe possible. Once I read more and saw what others were accomplishing, I decided my ultimate goal would be 100% over EPA for one week of commuting. Finally did it! 50.15mpg for this week, it was very exciting because on the same day the car turned 275,000 miles

With this, the goal does not advance, I will continue to modify to assure I can attain 50mpg throughout the year. There is still alot of work to do...

There were several folks on here that inspired me to push beyond what I thought was possible. Palemelnasion (SP), Doax, SVOBoy, and PGFPro demonstrated the capabilities that both the driver and vehicle were capable of if modified correctly.

So damn jealous.

I really kind of gave up the game. I deliver pizza at least once a week so I have to fill up before and after. I never drive more than 150 miles in a week, so I never can go a full tank.

Plus, I took my grill block off since my tranny is getting worse. 5500 rpms between 3rd to 4th every now and then but quite often.

What did you get the biggest gains from besides driving style?

I was wondering where you went Zach?
It's time to stop wishing it were a manual and make it happen!

Biggest gains came from putting it all together: route, mods and driving style. My mods are focused around getting better highway mpg, being an ATX, I don't have much hope for greatly improving city mpg. So refining my commute route in include as much highway as possible, aero mods, and leanburn have been the most effective.

I don't have the money or wrench skills to swap to a manual. I'm hoping I can get more out of this tranny. I'll be moving back south for school soon and won't be driving it much at all. Less than 1000 miles a month for sure. Likely closer to 500.

Yesterday she almost red lined. I've got to watch the gas pedal. Anything over 30 tps kills it. But if I let off the gas right before it should shift and then give it gas, it'll shift fairly decent.

What did you do to get such a good lean burn? I tried searching your post history but I only seem to see that you mentioned some sort of device?
