5w-20 Amsoil Okay to Use in My Metro?

Like the title says... I was wondering what you guys thought about my switching from 5w-30 to maybe 5w-20 amsoil.... I was using Mobil 1 before but I'm overdue for a change so I was wondering if you guys thought it may be too thin for a 146,000 mile motor... it doesnt burn much oil although i believe it does leak some out of the oil pan gasket... I just dont want to run the bearings dry... I searched and couldnt find anyone asking this specifically for the 1.0L Metro... Thanks

If the engine is tight enough to keep the oil pressure up then yes, you are not going to really know without an oil pressure gauge tho.

I would not risk it for the minimal potential gains.

If you have an oil pressure gauge, you want at least 10 to 15 PSI of oil pressure when the engine is warmed up at idle.
What oil are you using now?

Run it for 1k miles and do an oil analysis. This'll tell you if your engine has abormal amounts of wear going on.
