I had once thought about swapping on a smallport twincam head with high-comp pistons and all the trimmings, but I already have one "go fast" car, so this is my gas saving fun car, lol. Maybe one day when this engine goes (if it ever does) I'll swap in a TRD Blacktop 20v

Look at any car and the intake is at the base of the windshield- a high pressure area. It's especially obvious on the old '30s cars with the manually opening cowl vents. Why did those go away?

My Grandfather told me about small tank that you bought that held water and the ram speed of the car moving helped cool the car ? I saw an old Nash in a magazine that had one : it hung on the pass side window

And why don't they have vent windows anymore ?

The HVAC question: with all the advances that have been made, you can have the A/C and it not be a penalty; just go big on everything including the blower motor. With the temps and humidity in LA, ya just gotta do it. Look on Vintage Air's website for ideas, and raid a late model Camry or Lexus.

Now this is something I didn't think of doing. A larger condenser and blower would mean I wouldn't have to use the compressor as much. Definitely something I'm going to look into.
