I'm doing 43-44Mpg now. But i'm not finished yet.

First of all i had to change the breaks. They where like eeeehhhh gone (at least one of the 4 blocks was almost gone). So i saw that one of the two (how do you call that?) scruw holders where stuk (see red circle in the picture). They have to slide so that the break is not making contact whit the break-disc. This is not good for FE and the break is wearing faster than normal.



And i bought some second-hand tools, like a timing light and a vacuum gauge whit numbers. Also some other tools from a garage that's going to stop, so it was very cheap.

Congrats!! And finding that tied up caliper slide would gain you some mileage for sure.

I completely reworked all the brakes on Christine since all the caliper slides and pad mounts were rusted up. It should always be done or at least checked on any used car you get.
