Jet powered train --

Following failures in battery powered locomotives the railroad briefly
dabbled in jet powered locomotives. Early developmental problems
included melted railroad cars and a huge fire involving a coal load.

The lead engineer, Bob, on the project was reassigned after mounting
the jet engine on the front and crashing a fully loaded train backward
into a train arriving at the testing facility.

have you seen video of those jet engines in action? very impressive blowing sheets of ice off rail road track.

I had no idea what it did, I thought maybe they heated very cold locomotives to start them. We have to heat the trucks when it gets too cold. I can only imagine what kind of btu's it puts out.

I will try to find a video now.

I was just trying to start a humorous thread that people could add odd pics with outragous explainations. You know have a little fun.
