Aero template request

I really suck with computers, would anyone be able to put the aero template overlay onto a 2000 dodge neon for me? I would really appreciate it!

Best I could do on short notice.

D'oh! Sven, you beat me to it( and better, too:o:D).

Sweet!! Thank you guys so much! Im surprised to see how close the trunk lid comes to the template line, which makes my next job a lot easier :)

2000neon 05-02-2012 08:51 PM

Is there a different scale used between the two pictures? I see the line on the second one extends farther behind the trunk lid.

Sven7 05-02-2012 09:24 PM

Mine is true scale. You can measure off it and it should be exact to the car. When planning mods it's best to have as little perspective as possible and the blueprint is perfect for that.

Your rear window is pretty darn close to template. You might consider tuft testing it first to see what's actually happening.

Thats the plan, im going to try tuft testing it to see if the airflow remains attached, considering doing some coastdown testing with a decklid extension and/or roof spoiler

Sven7 05-02-2012 09:37 PM

Definitely. If you're doing coast down testing I wonder if you'd be up for a little experiment. I don't own a sedan so I can't do it :)

Search the forum for "coventry papers" and read about the "base plates". I was wondering if one could make something like that that goes vertically up from the edge of the trunk, like a Bonneville spoiler that goes up (instead of out) to meet the template. Does that make sense? The advantage would be if it were made out of plexi it would barely be visible.

I just thought if you're doing it maybe you'd be down. A suggestion :)
