Aerodynamic hubcaps with holes for lugs/air valve?

I've been looking, and I haven't found any mention of these before.

I'm looking for an alternative to my current "plastic wrap" hubcaps, because they're starting to loosen up. I don't want to go the moondisk route, because I want to be able to check my tire pressures and rotate them without screwing around with my trim rings (which are removable).

Does anyone know of any company that makes hubcaps that are basically flat, except with holes pre-cut for the center lugs and the air valve?

I've seen people drill a hole in their moon disk caps, and have thought about doing that on my mom's metro, but the moon disk caps stick out a bit as well, some flush caps like you are talking about would seem better.

Hi Bob,

Have you seen my flashing treatment of the Prius stock trim rings ? They are flat, and as the Prius wheels are concave, there is no need for the lug holes. I used valve extenders, which stick out through oval holes in the flashing.

This Trans Am is virtually stock right from the factory to include the defective recalled "Bowling Ball" hubcaps. You would be very fortunate to find another Trans Am sporting these original hubcaps because they eventually worked their way loose and fell off. The manufacturer evenutally issued a recall notice on these hubcaps, but for the most part, most owners simply did not want to deal with them and went on to buy custom wheels. Although my Trans Am was brand new right off the lot, in short order I lost three of mine as well. I then went on a determined search (early 1980's) to locate three original hub caps. After an exhaustive search I came up with three. My Trans Am sports the original hubcaps to this day.

Now that I've thought about it for awhile, I don't think I have the tools/skill necessary to accurately drill/cut a set of "flashing" hubcaps... Plus I don't quite understand how it attaches to the trim ring.

Perhaps I should try aluminum foil instead of plastic next :/

Oh, and if anyone was curious about my "plastic wrap hubcaps":

Would duct tape work? It's a little bit heavier than plastic wrap, but seems like it would be a little more sturdy.
What about clear packing tape?

If you look closely, it has packing tape holding the insides together... but its starting to peel off.... and I don't want it accidentally getting caught between the brakes.

Although this is a pricey option, buy a 5th rim, get the genuine moondiscs that use the dzus fasteners. You will have to pull the rim, remove the tire and have a welder attach the fasteners.
