Unhappy Aeromodding my pickup = dilemma

I'm about 1/2 way finished with my tonneau cover project for my pickup...

http://www.ecomodder.com/forum/1494-...y-tonneau.html

The reason I went with this is because I couldn't find a reasonably
priced campershell to modify to look like something Bondo is making..

I found a campershell thats not only exact fitment for
my truck but its inexpensive and it matches my factory paint..

Now what?
The shell project is what I orignally wanted to modify in the first place..

Now I'm dizzy with making a decision..
The camper shell would definatly come in handy for my upcomming move..

so I'm looking for guidence..

Someone smarter than me will chime in, but could you sell the one you're making on your Taco forum and then get the other one for the move and later modification? Probably wouldn't get what it's worth in labor, but somebody would at least get good use out of it.

Why not just pickup the campershell? You can always resell it right?

The guy who did the aero shell that you used above also did one first from a camper shell and it did not work out to good. Then he did the one that you used above starting from scratch. (If I remember or read he's post right.) So you might want to rethink using a camper shell. I do believe his problem was that he had a flat angle coming down the back slope which caused the air flow to break free, causing drag. he rounded (or humped) the one in the picture above and the airflow followes the shape to the talegate.

You might want to reread his posts or contact him to see what he says since he's been down this road before.

Just a couple of pennies from me, but please keep us posted which ever way you go..
