A K&N air filter isn't going to give any gains on a vehicle that has a throttle.

The oil I use is fully syn no mineral base or pet base . So directly no you are correct there but pet oils break down quickly and their ability to reduce friction diminishes quickly.
Mobil is the very company that lobbied (successfully) the API to allow use of the term "synthetic" on oils made from Group III basestocks--mineral oils.

As the oil breaks down it decays and its abilities suck as reducing friction do diminish. Dont have fuel logs just did this . Have you ever used either k&n or mobil 1 ?
I've used both, in fact.

It would be my guess you have not and are going by what you have read.

I have gained a lesser usage of gas and that is all I care about. I dont give a rats a-- what anyone thinks and could care less . Do you honestly believe all these posts of rediculous mpg s. You really think every one of them is 1 truthful 2 honest 3 accurate , sorry But I find it rarher hard to believe . So if it was to be true why have they not made the attempt to prove it with a reputable third party that can document it. You know dyno accurately measure volume of fuel that sort of thing because frankly fuel logs are proof of what some ones word not facts. Is not this forum word of mouth based on honest entries that are more accurate than most are capable of.
Look--we're not skeptical because we have something against you personally, so stop taking everything that way. It isn't very hard to run a few long tanks of gas through your Escalade, returning to the same pump at the same station to fill up, to get an accurate number of gallons used and divide by distance traveled between fillups. We're skeptical because you came on here and claimed, with no evidence, that changing your oil and air filter resulted in a significant increase in mileage, when similar claims from many individuals before have never been proven or substantiated. If you want to show that we're wrong, go ahead--but you have to have something credible to show us. So, my advice is: control as many variables as you can and run the experiment; even if you get results that you don't want, you'll still learn something.

Go and make disciples of all nations.
