Yes, the rumor is they will have a 40kWh (ish) and a 60kWh battery pack. We'll see in a month!

The new Leaf can't be as hideous as the original, or as aerodynamically inefficient.

It's pretty ugly.
My neighbor just bought a Leaf. She's all about the environment so the looks don't bother her a bit. She even got the baby-puke blue color. I'm holding out for the Leaf Nismo.

Don't tempt fate....
ETA: Musk promised Cd .21 for the Model 3, and the production car ended up Cd .23 or .24, depending on which news source reported it. The Volt 2 ended up the same Cd as the Volt I; the 4th gen Prius is only marginally lower drag than the 3rd gen, and the Prius Prime has the same Cd as the 3rd gen. Mercedes said in 2009 that within 5 years all their cars would be Cd .20 or less; currently, only the E-class (.23) and CLA (.22) come even close, and that only in Europe-specific efficiency submodels. I don't expect much from Nissan.

This is how they respond to the Tesla Supercharger network.
I like the new roof-line. I don't mind the current Leaf excepting the 'unfortunate' contour of the rear quarters.

Current Leaf looks so terrible, there's no way they can do a worse job with it. The black-roofed white one in that photo looked, like, decent, like I wouldn't be embarrassed to drive a car that looked like that.

It doesn't look like a Prius or a Leaf, it looks like a car. A couple of people have said it looks sporty, I'm not sure about that one, but it's not fugly anyway

Leaf and Prius are why I bought a Volt

I am expecting the new Leaf to have a Cd of about 0.25. They may have a slight rise in the underside, and a very slight plan taper. The wheels and the wheel openings look to be much tighter and close to flush.
We'll see about things like a thermally controlled shutter in the lower grill intake.

Leaf 2.0 is revealed and specs are out:
2018 Nissan LEAF Reveal Recap: Longer Range, Better Performance + Specs
It looks like Nissan is going for the price leader title, which I expect will ruin Bolt sales.
