Altima can't flat tow

So I was reading in my owners manual for the family's new Altima that they do not want the Altima on four wheels moving in neutral. They site in the RV flat towing it is because of no tranny cooling. I tried searching further for more details about where the coolant was being circulated from. No details.

Is this just a wearing the neutral gear harder situation or what? I can coast pretty good in gear, but even better in neutral.

It means the gears are lubricated by an engine-driven pump. If the engine is not running, the gears are not lubricated. That's bad. If the engine is running, go ahead and use neutral all you want. Just don't engine off coast this car.

Manual, no problem. CVT keep the engine running or you will fry the transmission.

My Mustang (manual transmission) can't be flat towed because the main shaft assembly in the transmission receives no fresh lubrication unless the input shaft is turning. I'll just have to live with not being able to EOC.

At least the last 2 years of Cobalts automatics can be flat towed up 65 mph according to online manual.
