I am replacing your airbags with egg cartons, because I care about you.

Assembled (stolen?) from many different quotes:

"...let them make scrambled green eggs while the crash is happening; and they shall be set free to make their mark(s) upon the windshields of life..." [Humpty Dumpty]

Well, that is the idea behind air bags...

I don't like the idea of adding energy to a collision, but Congress seems to think it's a good idea and we've seen what a great collection of scientific minds they are.

Let me ask you a question. There's a lot of fragile stuff shipped around: eggs, glassware, computer & electronic equipment, and much more. Obviously the shippers have a pretty strong incentive not to have the stuff break in transit, no? So how much of it is shipped in strong steel boxes, and how much is packed in really lightweight cardboard & styrofoam?

Egg cartons are not very aerodynamic...

Dang, I had a whole big post about this. Then I found out that I had timed out. Drat!! Anyway, I want to say sorry to OP if I derailed the thread. And I appreciate anyone's input. And I get the whole ping pong theory. My pops drove a Corvette off of a cliff once, and it got jammed into a bunch of trees and slid down to safety! If he had been in Silvia, he woulda died, after nose diving into the ground. But where I am, odds are it will be a congested area, with some idiot in a new BMW/Mercedes/Some other land based rocket cramming into you at a red light when you have no where to go. Whatever hits me will take the hit way better than I will. And summer time is the worst. Thats when all the serious hardware comes out. I saw a McLaren with a new driver's warning decal on the back of it today. Really? That $470,000 insanely fast car was a good choice for your child's first car?

Hate me if you want, but I'll take my chances with Silvia this year. Take all of that inexperienced, super car driving idiot threat level, and add on texting while driving, and you can get an idea of just how scary it is here lol.

You are totally correct. But sadly my family would have to sue them as I would be dead. I know it's easy for people to find pics of terrible accidents and say "Gee that could have been me! I need a Suburban with a widowmaker bumper on the front of it to be safe!" But here, it's a reality. The area I live in has the highest number of insurance claims for the whole province. Trust me, if I could get out of here, I would, but I need to be local to make a living. So I have to deal with my surroundings. Sadly.
