Android is giving me month-old notifications

I noticed this a few times recently. Coupled with Push Bullet pushing text messages and notifications to my phone it may explain why I receive each notification about ten times.

Each time that I receive an e-mail notification it also shows the last several from that same account.

I use the default Android e-mail app for all of my accounts.

Is it worth disabling it and trying another?
