Another interesting post on drive throughs.
I found this on another forum but it is an interesting point from someone not specifically an ecomodder.
This is direct copy / paste:
"It really didn't dawn on me before, but today, for some reason, when I got to the usual long lineup at our local Tim Hortons drivethrough this morning, I looked at the reading on the dash that shows KM left before needing gas. When I got to the beginning of the line, the readout showed 459 KM. It took ten minutes to get my coffee and by the time I pulled away from the window, the readout was 456 KM. Sitting in the lineup with the car (2009 Mazda6 GT) idling cost me 3 KM of travel. It really makes you think especially the number of times one goes through one of these in a week. I can only guess what it costs when I take my B2300 through. The car gets great mileage. Maybe I'll shut it off from now on, or go in.
Monitor it next time you go to a drivethrough window, if you have the digital readout..."
