Another retro brand revival - eSetta

Post-WWII Euro needed an affordable & short commuter transport, so the Isetta was created. An Italian/German bubble-car imagination became an influential citycar design for the rebuilding urban centers. Here's a recent design grad's design interpretation of that famous icon. The "e"Setta replaces the heart with an electric motor. The design would be part of a ride-sharing system and gets recharged @ induction stations throughout it's operating areas.
Kewl design. eSetta - Diploma 2012 by Tony Weichselbraun at Coroflot

... I still question it's effectiveness on SoCal freeways.

I'm trying to figure out why all these extra-compact cars have names like "SMART" and "IQ" and "DIPLOMA" - like they're answering a question nobody asked?

I just hope this one has a reverse gear

Marketing 101 - reinforce the consumer's intelligent decision and negate buyer's remorse...and me thinks the Diploma name is apropos for his grad thesis project.

Looks like it's somebody's senior project, not an actual production design.

That's sorta what I meant... like they know the buyers are going to have remorse.

LOL my mom had one of the originals back in the mid 50's, only way in and out is the front door, literally the front of the car is the door, not so great in an accident.
It'll never meet safety standards.
