There is a class action lawsuit in Arizona against the big oil companies for selling "hot fuel". The demand is for pumps to temperature adjust for volume. Several article mention a university study finding the average nationwide ground temperature is 64.7 F. Western state ground tempswere found to be "higher". (I couldn't find out how much higher.)
According to a few articles I read: at 60 F a gallon of gas is 231 cubic inches and at 90 F its 234 cu in. That's about 1.2%. My state's Dept. of Weights and Measures certifies gas pumps as accurate with a 2% variation.
Lawyers will get rich. Stations owners will waste time figuring out daily adjustments. Ultimately the costs will be passed on to the consumers.
What a waste of time and energy.
