Any suggestions?

Hello everyone. So I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some advice. While driving I spotted a civic vx. I stopped and talked to the owner. The car itself has 400k, the motor has been swapped for a jdm d15b. The valve cover says vtec e and it has the vtec solenoid. The body is really clean with no dents it does have a little bit of surface rust on one rear quarter panel. My question is how much is this car worth? Does having a swap decrease the value? What is the difference between the original motor and the one swapped for. Is this just the jdm version of it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe worth more to racers (assuming the swap was done for performance purposes) and probably worth less to ecomodders! The only thing that would really decrease the value is if the swap will cause future smog etc problems with keeping it on the road. California and similar states wouldn't touch such a car, other states no problem.

Well I would want to purchase it for better gas mileage. From what I've read online the d15b vtec-e is the equivalent of a d15z1. Is that correct?

I personally bypass any ad that has the word "swap" in it

Here's why (just pick out a random one below):

92' Honda Civic CX Hatch w/Z6 Swap
98 civic ex (H22a)full swap
92 accord h22a swap
Eclipse vr4 swap 6a12tt awd
1995 EJ1 b18c1 GSR swap
Honda Crx Si B18b1 Swap
Honda Civic Ef Hatch

Kids selling their ragged out POS to other kids, pfffft.

Well it's owned by an older guy. He's had if for over 7 years. I just just under the assumption that a d15b vtec-e was the same as a d15z1, is that not right?
