Anyone else ever seen this...
 

Years ago I came upon this website The Fuelless Engine Plans they sell plans for building different types of "free" energy devices. I actually got their plans for building your own hydrogen electrolysis fuel cell, and while the results were less than impressive, I blame that on the fact that I didn't exactly follow the plans and built one out of items I had laying around, namely a mason jar and some nails. I ask because one of their offerings, they call the fuelless engine, is a high efficiency electric motor that if indeed it is all it's cracked up to be should be of interest to anyone thinking about doing and ev conversion.

Laws of physics say no. The energy input must be equal to the output, and as there is friction etc to overcome, the engine wouldn't be able to maintain itself, let alone power anything else.

Perpetual motion machines are a fun idea, but are a complete load of crap. Anywhere that tries to sell plans for such a machine is a scam, and everything else they sell is almost certainly equally dodgy.

Good tip: if you haven't heard of it anywhere else other than on their website, chances are that its a scam. If there is some miracle blue pill that will shoot your MPGs to the upper 300s you'll know about it pretty fast.

I actually expected as much, and since I've only seen this in the one place, I was curious as to whether or not anyone had seen something similar somewhere else. I know that electrolysis will work to produce hydrogen, however the issue is producing it at a high enough volume to provide the pressures needed in an engine. Also there's the issue of a power source that can operate the fuel cell that's small enough to be portable. However a highly efficient high hp electric motor would be an ideal item for ev conversions, and while one that's an over unity device may be an impossibility, one that uses less juice than current standards shouldn't be so far fetched.

My car actually produces gasoline and O2 as a byproduct. It runs solely off atmospheric NOx, CO, CO2, HC's, and other byproducts of cars. I just need to draft close enough to them to dock with them, like this:

Yes, camopaint0707. The theory behind water for gas is actually pretty sound, it's really just a matter of making an efficient and portable device for it. It's been known for a very long time that running electric current through water causes it to break down into hydrogen and oxygen with the two elements being attracted to a separate pole, but these devices require a lot of energy and tend to produce a lot of waste heat. The item that's on that site that I found most interesting, and was more curious about, was their "fuelless" engine, which is just an electric motor that they claim produces as much electricity as it uses.

Very interesting idea, autoteach, seems like a new twist on the old idea of gassafication. Though with the need of a specially equiped vehicle to dock with for refueling I wonder if you gain more than just a curiosity item of a truck. Though if you could attach a wide area scoop to it it may have some very useful applications in heavy traffic situations.
